There is a constant change in the field of medicine. Both doctors and surgeons have to keep changing their methods and resorts to newer methods all the time in order to provide latest techniques to the patients. Technical advancements in medicine are made to benefit the patients.

The rate at which the cure options is growing is positively affecting the recovery rate of a variety of sicknesses.

There are numerous advancements in the field of medicine. A few the major technological advancements have been discussed below.

* Advancement in heart surgery: Prevention is always better than cure. However, there are various reasons for a person's heart condition. It can be due to unhealthy eating habits or due to consumption of other products like smoking cigarettes. One must attempt to keep his/her heart as healthy as possible.

These days robots are used in cardiac surgery. This surgery is called closed-chest and is amazingly helpful. Earlier, surgeons would have to open the rib cage and the breastbone in order to conduct open-heart surgery. With the advent of invasive surgery, doctors make incisions-one or two to operate the patient. Recovery is faster compared to open-heart, as the rib cage is not opened unlike open-heart which takes a lot of time in the healing process.

Another system of robotic operation is the Da Vinci surgical system. In this system, the doctor controls the operation with ergonomically designed console. He has full control over the operation. He uses four robotics arms to operate and the machine can be completely controlled by the doctor.
These robot-controlled operations are far more effective and safer than earlier methods. They cause minimum injury and maximum recovery.

* Surgical microscope: Advancement in technology through the microscope has helped in growth of medicine and recuperation from various ailments. Today, the technology has made way for types of surgical microscopes for spinal and heart surgery. It is also used in reconstruction and neurosurgery. These microscopes have system of internal focus and independent zooming. The surgeon who uses a single lens to operate accordingly controls this system. The single lens allows the surgeon to keep an eye on incision and adjust the microscope according to the need of the surgery. This is a huge leap in the surgical technology.

* Cosmetic dermatology: This is a new development in the field of medicine. This helps in curing various skin problem and removal of unwanted hair on one's body with the use of laser based technology and other equipments. This field of skin care has gained acceptance and is used by many patients who suffer from various skin issues.
